Alyssa Banting is the Marketing & Indigenous Relations Consultant at TruNorth Naturals, where she leads brand storytelling and creative strategy rooted in respect for land, culture, and community. She brings TruNorth’s mission to life through visual content and thoughtful communications that connect people more deeply to wild-harvested ingredients and the forests they come from.
With over 14 years of experience as a videographer and creative entrepreneur, Alyssa founded her own marketing agency nine years ago, supporting purpose-driven businesses in elevating their online presence through social media strategies, content creation, and website development.
At TruNorth, Alyssa’s work extends beyond marketing. As an Anishinaabe woman, she plays an active role in guiding Indigenous relations and supporting the company’s commitment to forest stewardship, traditional knowledge, and ethical harvesting practices. Her approach is shaped by a personal journey of cultural reconnection, which informs how TruNorth shares its story with integrity and care.
Alyssa lives on a lake in northern Ontario with her partner, TruNorth founder Cody McElrea, their husky Nakia, and their son, Eli Wolf, whom they welcomed in September 2025. Much of their time is spent walking wooded trails with Nakia, paddleboarding on the lake, and being immersed in nature.
Outside of her professional roles, Alyssa enjoys baking and working out, while centering her time and energy around her family and raising her son with intention, presence, and a deep connection to the land.
